Bodice Block Follow On Workshop – Saturday 27th June

Following on from our Bodice Block Workshop, learn how to hack and adapt your tailor made bodice block to create the perfectly fitting garments of your dreams. The techniques you learn while doing this will give you the skills to create any garment. While we will be focusing on how to change your bodice block during this workshop, these techniques can be used to hack any pattern to create your own unique style. If you have any patterns you would like to recreate, please let us know before the workshop and we can accommodate this. Supplies: Pencil/pen, paper scissors and a notebook for this workshop. We will be working on a small scale pattern and these can be kept to reference back to so a notebook will be handy to keep everything in one place. All other materials will be provided. Our tutor Sharlene Oldroyd @sosewdressmaking has extensive experience with fitting patterns and will show you through demonstrations how she resolves fit issues in trouser. Tea or coffee will be provided, we ask everyone to bring their own mug with a lid. Sewing & Dressmaking – Wednesday 5:00pm – 6:45pm – Beginners to Improvers

Suitable for confident beginners and more experienced sewists. I run small classes so that you get individual attention. We ask that you use fabric from Crafty Studio during class. Once the student is ready you can choose your own project to work on. Every project we will work on building new skills. Many students have used the skills they gain with us to pursue courses in fashion, textiles and start their own small business Projects are student led. So if theres something you always wanted to make or a pattern you saw we can make it! No sewing machine? Do worry I can supply a machine for you to use during the class.*

Figure Drawing with Clarity – May 2026

This course introduces an approach to figure drawing that focuses on understanding the underlying forms of the body. Developing an awareness of the basic structures and shapes that build the human figure helps you better understand what you’re seeing, making it easier to draw a convincing figure.

Classes will take the form of guided demonstrations and exercises.

Suitable for beginners and those with some drawing experience, these relaxed morning classes offer a supportive space to experiment and develop your skills.

Beginners Sewing – Wed Evening – 5:00pm – 6:45pm – 25th March

A 6 week course for beginners. If you have always wanted to learn to sew but don't know one end of a sewing machine form another then this is the class for you. From threading a sewing machine to repairs and making you very 1st garment this course will give you all the basic skills you need to be confident in your own sewing. Fabric for you first few makes will be supplied in the class after that we ask that you use fabric from Crafty Studio during class. Every project we will work on building new skills. Dates: March 25th April 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th Please note if you cannot make a date you may be able to do a catch up class within the 6 week term in one of the other classes. This must be arranged in advance. Classes cannot be rolled over into next term classes. We recommend you have a basic kit of dressmaking scissors, snips, thread, and pins. Our textiles tutor Sandra Reynolds has has 28yrs experience as an artist and teacher and will guide you through each step. Sandra received a City and Guilds qualification in Textiles and Embroidery and has been exhibiting and selling her work throughout Ireland. She can be found here on her instagram account.

Suitable for beginners with a few projects under their belts to more intermediate sewists. This course would also be useful to students attend third level textile and art education. Teaching will be tailored to participant’s individual needs.

All materials will be provided.

Project: Wool felt Autumnal Landscape, or image of your choosing
