Advent Calendar Sewing Class – 19th November

Make your own reusable advent calendar. Starting with one of our pre printed fabric panels you will create a beautiful advent calendar to use year upon year.

Our textiles tutor Sandra Reynolds has has 28yrs experience as an artist and teacher and will guide you through each step. Sandra received a City and Guilds qualification in Textiles and Embroidery and has been exhibiting and selling her work throughout Ireland. She can be found here on her instagram account.

The course will run over one day,  tea and coffee will be provided. We encourage students to bring their own keep cup.

All patterns, materials and fabric will be provided for the students use during class. We have sewing machines for your use in class but if you are bringing your own please do let us know.

Project: Quilted advent calendar

Location: Crafty Studio 2a Prospect Ave Glasnevin. Free on street parking is available on Sundays on Prospect Square.

Below is a list of the learning outcomes of the course.

By the end of the course you will;

• know how to use a pre printed fabric panel.
• be able to select fabric to compliment your panel.
• know how to baste a quilt
• know how to straight line quilt
• know how to a a hanging sleeve.
• learn how to attach binding using a whip stitch
• learn how to attach binding using a sewing machine.
