The Sunrise pouch workshop is the perfect class to begin your journey into bag making. Perfect for beginners but with added options for more advanced sewists. The pattern was designed by Sarah Jolley who will be teaching this one day workshop. Sarah is an experience sewist and pattern designer with a large amount of patterns to her sewing name, Incomplete Stitches.

Content:

During the course participants will learn :
    • how to prepare and sew a bag using a paper pattern
    • to insert a zipped welt pocket and a patch pocket.
    • how to box out corners.
    • how to neatly piece together external pockets.
    • know how to attach straps
    • know how to add snap closures
    • about appropriate interfacing
    • the joys of birthing a bag!
    • how to neatly sew the lining closure with a ladder stitch.
Date:  Sunday 26th March
Time: 10am – 5pm (incl. 1 hr lunch break)
Duration: 6hrs over 1 day
Location: Crafty Studio, 2a Prospect Ave, Harts Corner, Glasnevin Dublin 9.
Each student will receive an A0 print of the Apex to use during class, and a digital copy with instructions for future use. We will also provide a selection of bag making materials, but others are available to purchase with a 10% discount to students.
We will send you your copy of the pattern in advance and ask all students to have it cut our ready for the workshop.
In a bid to be more sustainable and to keep cost down we ask all students to bring your own keep cup/mug and take away any non recyclable waste.
Please bring a fabric scissors and pins if you have them. Sewing machines are available to use but must be requested in advance.
