Kids Sewing Course – April 2025 – Thurs 3:30 -5pm

A  sewing course aim for children age 8 to 14.

Sewing and making things with your own hands is an excellent life long skill to learn. Students will work on craft, alteration and dressmaking projects. Classes are kept small so that you can get the benefit of one to one tuition.

No sewing machine? Don’t worry we can supply a machine for you to use during the class.*

Some of the skills we will cover during the classes

• How to use a sewing machine
• How to thread a sewing Machine
• how to cut fabric.
• pattern cutting
• pattern adjustments
• choosing fabric
• working with jersey

5. Cushion Applique or pocket 
6. Beanie Hat 
7. Neckwarmer 
8. Zipped Bag 
9. Purse 
10. Pencil Pouch 
11. Bottoms or Skirt 
12. T-Shirt

While some projects are small and quick most will take several lessons to complete.

All students should have a basic kits of the following with them at every class 

• Dressmaking Scissors 
• Embroidery scissors 
• Pins 
• Hand Sewing Needle 
• Thread (Various Colours) 
• Tape Measure 
• Sketchpad 
• 5 Fat Quarters or 1m of Cotton Poplin

Each student should attend class with their sewing kit, sewing machine (unless you have hired one), and project. 

Students must buy the required fabric for projects from Crafty Studio before class. The tutor will recommend the correct fabric and all students receive a 10% discount. 

Due to health and safety reasons min age is 8yrs old.
