Intro to Sewing – Zipped Bag – 12th Sept 2026

This class is aimed at the beginner who want to learn to sew, and is a direct follow on from the sewing machine driving course.

The course will run over one afternoon,  tea and coffee will be provided. Please bring your own mug or keep cup.

A basic pattern and all materials will be provided for student, additional fabric can be purchased from crafty studio with a 10% discount for all students. Please note that any fabric used in the workshop must have been purchased from Crafty Studio. Don’t have a sewing machine thats no problem we have lots to hire (€15 hire fee), jus select with machine when booking.

Project: Quilted Zipped Bag

Level: Absolute beginner.

Location: Crafty Studio 2a Prospect Ave Glasnevin.

By the end of the course students will

• understand how a sewing pattern work.
• know how to layout and cut a pattern correctly.
• have an understanding of the variety fabrics.
• know which sewing needles and thread to use.
• know how to use different stitch types for different material.
• know how to insert a zip.
• know how to create quilted fabric.
• be able to finish a craft project.
